Primary Purpose:

Provide administrative and clerical support to Special Education/Services staff for efficient departmental operation.

 

Qualifications:

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent

 

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years clerical experience

 

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Proficient skills in keyboarding, Word, and Excel

Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills

Ability to work accurately with close attention to detail

Ability to work independently and work in a team-oriented environment

Knowledge of District organization and operations, as required for this position

 

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

  1.   Provide administrative support for district Special Services staff (i.e. diagnosticians, speech-language pathologists, etc.)
  2. Fulfill records requests and maintain inactive student files.
  3. Prepare referral/transfer packets.
  4. Train staff on Special education software (eSped)
  5. Maintain supply inventory.
  6. Communicate with campus personnel to obtain data and information needed for submission to the Texas Education Agency.
  7. Manage and schedule calendars for staffings/ARDs/504 meetings and maintain referral packets. 
  8. Compile data requred for submission to the Texas Education Agency.
  9. Other duties as assigned.

Work with frequent interruptions. Demonstrate patience and flexibility in changing job demands and when interaction with employees, visitors, and the public. Maintain emotional control under stress.
