 Primary Purpose:

 

The primary purpose of an early childhood specialist is to support the continuity and fidelity of the district-wide early childhood program. Early childhood specialists will support teacher effectiveness by modeling instructional best practices, literacy instruction, classroom management strategies, and provide in field training for paraprofessionals

 

Qualifications:

 

Education/Certification:

 

Bachelor’s degree from accredited university

Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements 

ESL Certification preferred 

 

Education/Experience:

 

Special Knowledge/Skills: 

 

Major Responsibilities and Duties: 

  1. Increase the quality and effectiveness of classroom literacy instruction. 
  2. Increase the effectiveness of the learning environment and application of behavior intervention strategies.
  3. Increase instructional skills of classrooms teachers by providing feedback and coaching support.

Maintain emotional control under stress. Occasional district wide and statewide travel; frequent prolonged and irregular hours.
