Job Title: Attendance Clerk Days/Status: Nonexempt

Primary Purpose:
The primary purpose is to maintain accurate attendance records for the campus. Perform data entry including attendance and Public Education Information Management System (PEIMS) data.
Qualifications
Education/Experience:
High School diploma or equivalent
Two years data entry experience
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Effective organization, file maintenance, communication, and interpersonal skills
Proficient keyboarding skills and ability to use personal computer and software to develop spreadsheets and databases and do word processing
Ability to operate office equipment
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Collect and enter attendance and PEIMS data into established database and verify accuracy according to established procedures.
- Facilitate admission and dismissal of students according to established procedures, including issuing tardy passes and other forms.
- Prepare and print reports and other documents as required.
- Maintain physical and computerized records.
- Assist parents, students, and staff with questions regarding student attendance.
- Call parents to verify absences as needed.
- Report all attendance problems to designated administrator.
- Maintain attendance intervention log and prepare, send, and monitor attendance letters as required by law.
- Assist in training and overseeing student and parent volunteers for attendance office.
- Monitors the doors to the campus and allows access into the building.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Participate in meetings and training sessions as designed by District staff.
- Assist in campus duty assignments as required.
- Regular and consistent attendance.
- All other duties as assigned.
