Job Title: CTE Career Center Assistant Days/Status: Nonexempt, 187 Days

Primary Purpose:
The primary purpose is to provide administrative support to assigned personnel and ensure efficient operation of the Campus GO Center, ensuring compliance with financial, legal, and administrative requirements.
The position assists with the College/Career readiness program and supports the work of the Career Coordinator and Counselors by meeting with students and parents individually and in groups to assist with career planning and the college entry process including scholarships and the financial aid process. College Career Assistant will work with all grade levels 9-12 and facilitate family workshops and college/career fair during fall and spring.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Associates Degree or higher (preferred)
High School diploma or equivalent
One to three years administrative experience, preferably in an educational setting
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Effective organization, communication, and interpersonal skills
Understanding of the College/Career Selection Process preferred
Proficiency in software applications to develop spreadsheets, databases, and word processing
Ability to operate office equipment
Knowledge of District organization and operations as required for this position
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Reports and Correspondence
- Prepare written correspondence, forms, schedules, or reports using a personal computer.
- Respond to inquiries of staff, the public, parents, and students, and disseminate appropriate information concerning applications and other CTE student event management.
- Receive incoming calls, take reliable messages, and route to appropriate staff.
- Schedule meetings and appointments and maintain a calendar for assigned administrative personnel.
- Schedule CTE events and maintain the GO Center calendar of events, in coordination with Grapevine High School and Colleyville Heritage High School CTE staff.
- Provide career and college entrance information and assistance to students, teachers, parents and counselors: coordinate day-to-day operations and schedule activities, programs and speakers.
- Organize and post monthly scholarship opportunities on school website.
- Obtain, organize, file and display college and career materials; maintain displays and bulletin boards
- Organize, maintain and operate the school career center with scheduled tours for all students
File Management
- Maintain physical and computerized files including mailing lists, student records, visitor logs, and office communication.
- Maintain records identified in campus crisis plan, in conjunction with CHHS office staff.
Other
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Participate in meetings and training sessions as designed by District staff.
- Assist in campus duty assignments as required.
- Regular and consistent attendance.
- All other duties as assigned.
