Job Title: After School Aide (Kidzu)- Summer Temporary      Wage/Hour Status: Non-Exempt/Seasonal Temporary

Primary Purpose:

Responsible for assisting the Site Coordinator in implementation of the extended care program’s daily activities at their individual site; supervision of the children in the program; and the communication with students, staff members, and parents.

This position will assist with the Kidzu Summer Day Camps held over the summer.  Hours may vary from 7:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.  Monday through Friday.  

Qualifications:

Education:

High school diploma or GED

Some college preferred, but not required

Education or Early Childhood experience preferred

Special Knowledge /Skills:

Ability to work well with children

Effective communication skills

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Supervise children at the program
2. Provide a fun, safe, and positive environment
3. Communicate with staff, students and parents
4. Follow security measures  in place to maintain the safety of the children
5. Assist in implementing the program’s daily activities
6. Help to keep a clean and orderly program.
7. Prepare and serve snacks

Professional growth and Development

1. Develop professional skills and knowledge appropriate to the job assignment

2. Participate in staff development by attending staff meetings as assigned

3. All other duties as assigned
