Primary Purpose:

The Lead Site Coordinator is responsible for the planning and implementation of the extended care program’s daily activities at their individual site; the collection of tuition and bookkeeping; supervision of the children in the program; supervision of Site Coordinator, Site Aides; and the communication with students, staff members, school staff and parents



High school diploma or GED

Some college preferred, but not required

Experience working with children in group settings


Special Knowledge/Skills:

Ability to work well with children

Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills



At least 2 years experience working with children in group settings

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

  1. Plan and implement the program’s daily activities.
  2. Monitor students and provide a fun, safe, and positive environment.
  3. Assist with campus duties such as lunch, recess and office support as needed.
  4. Ensure security measures are in place and utilized to maintain the safety of the children.
  5. Maintain a clean and orderly program area and equipment.
  6. Communicate effectively with principals, staff members, children, and parents.
  7. Collect tuition payments from parents and perform bookkeeping tasks.
  8. Assist with maintenance of records and other documents as required, including family data and financial cards, and use of Procare software.
  9. Manage classroom operations regarding guidance and discipline.

  2. Participate in staff development by attending staff meetings as assigned
  3. Attend 15 hrs. of  Professional Development training each year

Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written), the ability to cope with emotional situations and stress; maintain control when under stress; Demonstrate patience and flexibility in changing job demands and when interacting with employees, visitors, and the public; Anticipate moderate stooping, bending, and lifting in addition to pushing/pulling equipment during set-up and clean-up.
